Noticed that Khion Sankey

scored 25 points with 10 rebounds against Dwayne Polee and Westchester High in the championship game. He was the state of California's Boys Athlete of the Week back in January of 2010.

Sports a 3.8 gpa, too.

Khion Sankey

Probably doesn't have the size and athleticism to make it to the elite level schools, but I hope he finds a fit on a good college squad.

Polee Checking Things Out

Would be great if UGA could get to the point at which the school is getting early commitments. We still may be in great shape with Polee, but I was a little disappointed to read the quote that he does not have a leader for his recruitment.

Coach Fox can sell the deal, I think.

Polee is the only really contested recruit that Fox has gone after. Vincent Williams wasn't heavily recruited. Same for Caddy Lalanne and Donte Williams. But if Fox can get Polee to be part of the mix, then that will be a key sign to the 2011 class that they should look to get on board and do so quickly.

AJC on Commitment from Donte Williams

Pretty good interview.

Williams has some pretty good upside. He's not an incredible leaper, but with all the running and weight training that he will get, he should boost his vertical. Put on 25 pounds of lean muscle and Georgia should have something.

Good fit.

Bob Spratling

I understand that the basketball team lost a fan today. I don't recall ever meeting D.C. Dog, but I enjoyed reading his posts back before the UGA.rivals.com message board went premium for hoops.

I take it that the attached is Bob's picture.

Spratling

This is a good week to remember how precious life really is.

Sad to hear the news. Let's all pray for the family.

Anyone want to respond to Anonymous Below?

Are we likely to bring in Polee? If so, why? If not, why not? What are our chances? 50, 30, 75 percent?

I have my own thoughts, but I'd like to hear from some of the rest of you.

Hugh Durham to FSU Business School Hall of Fame

Great event for Coach Durham. He won a lot of games at FSU, Georgia and Jacksonville. He seems to be enjoying his retirement. Married 51 years. Grateful to his alma mater.

Dwayne Polee and Westchester Win California Championship

Westchester defeated Newark Memorial last night 63 to 56 to win its second consecutive state of California Division I high school championship.

Westchester finished the year with a 32 and 3 record. Besides the state championship, the Comets also notched victories over nationally ranked teams such as Oak Hill of Virginia and Mater Dei of California.

Dwayne Polee picked up two quick fouls in the first quarter. He came back in the second quarter and scored on two dunks, but was called for his third foul right after the second half began.

Polee ended up with 7 points and 6 rebounds.

UNLV or Georgia? I thought Georgia was leading, but he has made some favorable remarks about UNLV, and it's a lot closer to home. I wouldn't count Fox out, though. Sure would be fun to see Leslie and Polee on the fast break.

Uncle Yatta: Gaines in D.C.

Sundiata Gaines and the Utah Jazz traveled across the country to play the Washington Wizards and they were met there by 90 of Sundiata Gaines' fans.

Sundiata didn't get to play until the very end of the game, but he did score on a three-pointer.

I'm sure that his family couldn't be happier with Sundiata's recent ascent to the NBA. I'm delighted things have worked out so well for him.
